Dr. Pamela Graves

Dr. Graves joined us in 2000 after her graduation from Michigan State University. She has a special interest in exotic medicine and while in school did extensive study at various locations across the country including an externship at the Dolphin Research Center in Florida, and an internship at the Miami Sea Aquarium working with injured sea animals and various exotics. She also did a rotation while in school working with an exotics specialist in Jackson, Michigan and completed a zoo and wildlife rotation while at MSU. Along with her passion for exotics, she has an interest in ultrasound and echocardiography.

Dr. Graves has become certified in animal chiropractic and applies it with all animals. She has also pursued studies in Applied Kinesiology and uses this receptor-based therapy with the animal chiropractic. She believes that spinal manipulation is excellent for more than the sore pet. It can benefit working animals, animals with immune system problems or issues with behavior. While it is not a treatment modality among itself, spinal manipulation of your pet can help to improve his or her general health. Dr. Graves is also scheduled to start courses in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2008 to offer all complimentary medical modalities to her patients.

Although challenging at times, there is nothing more satisfying to her than preserving the human-animal bond. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the American Holistic Veterinary Association, the American Association of Human-Animal Bond Veterinarians and the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Dr. Graves is also an adjunct professor at Ferris State University for the College of Pharmacy and lectures to veterinary technician students at Baker College in Cadillac.

In her free time she enjoys baking for her staff, biking, running, cooking and rollerblading. She has a houseful of rescued animal including 3 dogs, 6 cats, 4 horses and 4 birds.
